Why add EOs to pure isolate CBD?

The terpenes found in essential oils can increase the overall spectrum of a product. By adding Young Living essential oils to Nature's Ultra CBD products, the product is no longer truly an isolate but a broad-spectrum CBD product or what Dr. Mike Buch refers to as “Smart Spectrum”. This provides the best way to control purity and efficacy. Nature’s Ultra uses a combination of CBD isolate and the terpenes in essential oils to produce a broad-spectrum CBD oil without THC.

Terpenes are pharmacalogically versatile. They are lipophilic so they can pass through cell membranes quickly. They communicate with nerves, support muscles, translate to neurotransmitter receptors, G-protein receptors, and enzymes. You’ll see YL oils in these CBD products that are high in terpenes such as helichrysum, copaiba, ylang ylang, and black pepper to name a few.

Terpenes have also proved effective on our health too with some properties including anti-inflammatory and stress relief. When we smell the fragrances secreted from terpenes, it activates receptors in our olfactory system — the membranes, neurons, and nerves that control our sense of smell. Our olfactory system then communicates with receptors in the limbic system of our brains, which includes the amygdala, hippocampus, thalamus, and hypothalamus. This system controls upper-level functions of our brain such as emotions, reactions, stress regulation, and memory recall. The activation of these receptors, which would have otherwise be dormant, opens the door to a wide variety of health benefits.
